Known at a international level for its ceramics, since 1300, thanks to the important relationship between the lords of Faenza and the Medici’s family, il was an important meeting place for political and cultural meetings and for centuries the city was embellished with monuments that still keep their charm. Here we can find a few urban masterpieces like for example, piazza del popolo, bounded by two porticoed wings where there are the Podesta's Palace and the Municipal Palace, Liberty Square with the Cathedral which contains many works of art of the Renaissance and the monumental fountain: its bronze sculptures date from the end of 17th century.
