On the southern slopes of Mount Jato you can enjoy a spectacular archaeological reality . . the remains of the ancient town of Jetas. It is an ancient city, probably founded by the Elimi, characterized by the presence of solid Greek-Roman walls, with strictly cut stones and arranged and precarious walls of medieval times. The excavations in the Archaeological Park of Monte Jato, begun in 1971, have uncovered important archaeological remains.
